My very 1st Game Console...Super Nintendo! Growing up, the first game console I ever received was Super Nintendo...it was light grey with purple buttons. And the only reason I received it, was because my older brother convinced me that it was the latest and greatest toy out there at the time (but really, it's because he wanted it for himself!). So I begged my mother to get it for me as my christmas present (which she did) and ended up loving it! I loved anything Mario Bros, but my fave game had to be Mario Cart. I knew about all the hidden tracks and knew that I could do a super leap from one end of the track to the other to gain a 1/2 track lead against my opponent;) The battle mode was awesome...being able to pick up various powers and whip objects (turtle shells) at unsuspecting players was the best! The only other game I enjoyed other than the Mario Bros. games, had to be Street Fighter...and my #1 choice was none other than Chun-li (hopefully, I spelled that right!?). Up to this day, my brother and his friends joke that I sound just like her when I laugh...not sure if that's good or bad, or just plain annoying... :| Hopefully, it's not either of the latter two options;)

Now that I have 2 kids of my own, I actually try to steer them away from playing too many video games. Back in the days, I remember playing my video games once in awhile, but then I'd be outside hanging with my buddies the majority of the time...using our imaginations. I feel like these days, kids don't do enough of that. It's all about computers, cell phones, television, and video games!!! They sit there like zombies in some sort of scary trance! I have purchased a Nintendo DS for them, however, they are limited to it's use, and I try to buy games that are not only entertaining, but also stimulating. Thankfully, they are okay with that, and so far it's never been an issue.
